With the help and promotion of Dick Clark and his American Bandstand television program they were able to transform the small label into a major independent record label with numerous hits and million-sellers from artists like Duane Eddy. This 45 from 1957 is one of their early releases.
That's my grandpa on sax! His name is Vince Iorio, from Trenton, NJ. He's had a long successful career playing live performances with the likes of Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, The Temptations, Rosemary Clooney, and many other musical icons. In addition to the Tritones, he recorded in the studio with Chubby Checker where he played the sax solo on the original recording of "The Twist"! He's now 78 and doing great.
